Non-surgical Treatment of Neuroma Pain

If you sometimes feel that you are "walking on a marble," and you have persistent pain in the ball of your foot, you may have a condition called neuroma.

Neurolysis of the painful neuroma can now be performed without surgery. Studies have shown it to have an 80% effectiveness, which is as high as many of the outcomes with surgical correction of neuroma.

The procedure consists of a series of 5-7 injections given in weekly intervals, with dehydrated ethyl alcohol. The treatment is provided in the office, and improvement is normally noted after the 3rd or 4th injection.

Make an appointment with our office to discuss this procedure with Dr. Lemberger.

Under some conditions, the non-surgical procedure may not provide relief. If that should happen, there is a new minimally-invasive procedure, known as "KobyGard" is available. It can be performed through a single small incision between the toes. There is a short recovery period without the complications associated with older procedures. This is a very safe procedure with a high success rate and it is becoming the standard care for hundreds of surgeons throughout the country.
